Our clients, a family with Mediterranean roots, envisioned a contemporary Tuscan villa in Sunbury that honoured their heritage while embracing modern design. They sought a residence exuding relaxed elegance, with light-filled spaces connecting seamlessly to the outdoors. The brief emphasised creating a grand yet welcoming atmosphere, with luxurious private spaces,especially in the master suite. The home was to serve as both a personal sanctuary and an impressive entertainment venue, while maintaining the warmth of Mediterranean lifestyle.
The Approach
We adopted a "contemporary Tuscan minimalism" strategy, distilling traditional Tuscan architecture to its essence and reinterpreting it through a modern lens. We emphasized clean lines, open spaces, and a refined material palette of white, warm timber, and marble. Great importance was placed on the flow between spaces, designing vast open areas for family togetherness and entertaining.
